The first few days of your session will be registration and orientation. During registration and orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet the IEP faculty and staff as well as other students. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the city of Miami, UM and the Intensive English Program. Our faculty and staff will do their best to answer any questions you may have.

Registration

Be sure to bring the following items with you to registration.

  • Passport
  • I-20
  • Immunization form
  • Local address, even if only temporary
  • Payment of full tuition and fees

Orientation

You will learn many important details about your studies during orientation sessions, including:

  • An introduction to CaneLink
  • A campus tour
  • Services on campus and across Miami
  • Health and safety issues
  • IEP Policies and Procedures
  • Your IEP class level and class schedule

Placement Exam

Students take the IEP placement test to determine their level. The placement test is approximately two hours long and includes listening, reading, writing and an oral interview. IEP placement test
